At least three riders, including six-time national champion Missy Erickson, have recently shared stories of alleged sexual misconduct by cycling coaches or team officials.
Because little research has been done on this issue, Bicycling is working to understand the scope and incidence of misconduct (emotional, physical, or sexual) and abuse of power within competitive cycling. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey.
For the most accurate results, it is important that we hear from individuals of any gender who are involved in competitive cycling, even if you haven’t experienced abuse or misconduct yourself. We will not share your identity without your consent.
We recognize that these are serious and sensitive issues. For more information on how to identify and report misconduct in cycling, please visit http://ift.tt/2kNDfzd or safesport.org. If you need support, please call the National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE.
Thank you for giving your time and attention to this important issue.
