This week was of course dominated by the reveal trailer of Project CARS 2, which didn’t disappoint with its dazzling weather effects, a variety of racing disciplines, and the largest roster of tracks to feature in a racing game. In fact, there was so much to talk about that we discussed our thoughts in more detail in our separate dedicated Project CARS 2 podcast.
It’s fair to say that Project CARS paved the way for racing game simulations on consoles, but nothing could prepare us for the surprise reveal of GTR 3 coming to PS4 and Xbox One in 2018.
Elsewhere, we had yet another car pack released for Forza Horizon 3 with the Playseat Car Pack, which added the Aston Martin DB11 to the roster, as well as the revelation that Playground Games is opening another studio to work on a new unannounced open world game outside of the racing genre.
And if you were worried that DiRT 4 was going to be compromised to improve its mass appeal, fear not – the sim handling is said to be "closer to the real deal than DiRT Rally."
